It is used wet and is known for its abrasive properties and grain, which allows the knife to regain its original sharpness. An equally important tool, which has a slightly different use, is the whetstone. It is available in stainless steel or diamond-coated, with a beechwood handle that is comfortable to hold and a sharpening section length of 25 cm. Finally, OPINEL offers a small hand-held sharpener that is easy to use and very compact. It works with all types of knives and automatically adjusts to the angle of their blade. All these sharpeners allow you to sharpen both small pocket knives and kitchen, table and garden knives.

More than 130 years ago, Joseph Opinel invented the pocket knife that still bears his name in a small Savoyard village. The company, still run by Joseph Opinel's descendants, manufactures products ranging from small pocket knives to kitchen and cutlery knives and gardening tools in Chambéry, in the heart of the French Alps.
